Is Resident Evil 2 Split Screen?

Resident Evil 2 will be out in less than a week on January 25th. You may have seen it already thanks to Capcom’s one-shot demo. The single-player campaign looks fantastic, but what about multiplayer? Are there Resident Evil 2 remake multiplayer options? What about co-op online? What about different multiplayer modes? We have the answers.

Is there Resident Evil 2 remake multiplayer or campaign co-op?

We know that Resident Evil 2 will feature a decent-sized single-player campaign. The demo shows this to be very fun. But what about multiplayer? Are there co-op or multiplayer options, such as Resident Evil 5?

All indications are that Resident Evil 2 will only be available in single-player mode. The campaign cannot also be played online or in split-screen coop. Although there are two main characters in the Resident Evil 2 remake, they will remain separate throughout the campaign. The game’s Steam product page only lists single-player with no online components.

Will there be Resident Evil 2 remake Raid or The Mercenaries modes?

There won’t be any campaign co-op. But what about a separate mode with multiplayer or coop like Raid mode or The Mercenaries in Resident Evil 4 or 5? The game may have unlockable modes that can customize the experience, just like Resident Evil 2’s “Extreme Battle,” although those modes were only available for single-player.

Unfortunately, it is not clear that Resident Evil 2 will be any different. The remake will feature a single player mode, much like the original. If you want to continue with Revelations 2 and Resident Evil 5, that’s fine.
