Is Carcassonne Crossplay?
Carcassonne, a tile-based German-style game board for 2-5 players, was designed by Klaus-Jurgen Wide. Hans im Gluck published it (until 2012), Rio Grande Games (until now) and Z-Man Games(currently) in German. It received the Spiel des Jahres and the Deutscher Spiele Preis awards in 2001.
Its name is a tribute to the medieval fortified city of Carcassonne, a French town known for its walls. Many expansions and spin offs have been made to the game and several mobile, PC, and console versions. In 2014, a new edition was released with updated artwork on tiles and boxes.

Both are very different games. “Better” will vary depending on your personal preferences. Carcassonne is playable with many players, but Catan works best with at least 3.
Which is better, Catan or Carcassonne?
Carcassonne wins my vote as it is easier to teach and is more fun with fewer people (since I only ever play with 2 or 3 people). Catan is an excellent choice if you are comfortable teaching a game to a large group. Catan is a classic board game that’s been around for a long time.
