Rec Room is a virtual reality online game that uses an integrated game-creation system. It can be played on Microsoft Windows, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

You can play the game with or without a virtual reality headset, such as a SteamVR headset, OculusVR headset, or a PlayStation VR headset. Virtual reality mode uses full 3D motion through the motion capture system of the virtual reality headset. Two hand-held motion controllers pick up and manipulate objects in the game environment.

A host player only needs an Xbox Live account. Another one to three people can join the game as guests.

You can switch to screen mode in the Oculus app by clicking on the “…” menu and selecting “Start In Desktop Mode”. Steam allows you to enter screen mode by opening Rec Room and choosing “Play Rec Room (non VR) Mode”.
